Updating Adobe Reader 10.1.10 to 10.1.16 failed with error "1642"

i am having Windows 10 machine with Hebrew language. I am having Adobe Reader X (10.1.10) and trying to update to Adobe Reader X (10.1.16) . But the update installation got failed with error code 1642 with message "The upgrade cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade." How to fix this issue?

Why specifically 10.1.16? It is not latest version.

You can try one of the patches from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.16/misc/

or find latest at ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/

For the Free Version of Adobe Reader X, the update 10.1.16 is the latest. Yet it failed with issue.

Did you install 10.10 yourself? Maybe it was a custom install (which would need a custom update made by the same person)
