Hello,

does someone know, is there a tool / converter  which

- verifies that the PDF created from a word/execl is exactly the same as the word document

Regards

    Correct answer Test Screen Name

If you want to compare the TEXT it's a different story. The text should not change in conversion (except page numbers etc. when the page count changes, as it generally will).

You're comparing oranges to apples, there... If you want to do a visual comparison you can export both files as images and then compare those, but then what if the image is not the same as the original file? Or what if what the exported image looks like is not the same as the printed copy looks like? In short, it's problematic.

    Hi,

    that was the answer expected

well there are regulatory authorities who want to be sure that an apple is an orange … or at least the look and taste the same

I’d expect to see a difference most times. Word isn’t designed to keep exact appearances, and doesn’t.

Well "if i would print the word on a printer" and "print the PDF on the same printer" , i would not see any difference-> and this beein checked/veryfied software.

Or if i make a word page preview and a pdf page preview, it looks same

You know sometimes WYSIWYG is not really true, sometimes some formatting gets lost or when useing a character set in word which is not standard ..
