Viewing or opening a saved file after downloading.

I am on Windows 8.2.  I am trying to download a file.  After hitting the "download" option, I do not see the Acrobat icon being displayed rather another program is attempting to start wanting to write the file to disc.  I get two options at the bottom of the screen: "view" or "save".  When I select view or try to open the file after having saved it, I get the following message:  "Acrobat could not open "procedures.zip", because it's either not a supported file type or because the file has been corrupted or damaged...

Only two weeks ago, I was able to view this same and similar files with Acrobat Reader DC, without any problem.  I already checked the source generating this file, but no changes were made to it.

I already checked for updates and also have reinstalled this version of Acrobat.  Help please!

What can I do to view or open this saved file?

    My question has not been answered.  ​Am I not using this system correctly.  Can You help?

    Acrobat Reader can't open zip files.

    Is there a way that I can un-zip that file?

    You need to download the file. After doing that, double-click the icon. That "should" open WinZip or whatever application your system uses to decompress the file. If it doesn't, you will need to figure out what that application is and set your systems file associations so it uses it to open that file type.
