Watermark is visible on iPad but not on laptop, why?

Hi, I have a PDF book that, if i open it on adobe reader on my MacBook Pro, looks fine and no watermark is visible on any page, but if I open the same book on adobe reader on my iPad, I can see a watermark on almost every single page.

Why aren't they detected on the laptop but they are on the iPad? The iPad reader doesn't have any option to remove watermark and the Reader on the laptop says it doesnt detect any so they can't be removed.

Acrobat Reader for iOS will always the display the watermark. This is independent from the watermark settings.

So there's nothing to do about it?

You can wait for a bug fix.

You are right. But this option is not in Adobe Reader, and I thought that is the software you said you had.

This option only removes watermarks added by Acrobat, so if you've tried it without effect, you've shiwn it isn't an Acrobat watermark.

I'm sorry but you're just stating the obvious and repeating what I have already said.

It seems nobody can give me a straight answer or a solution to this problem.

Sorry but if it was so obvious that it was variation between readers in the handling of layers why did you ask? I'm glad that despite this you have confidence you can solve it. I'll try not to waste any more of your valuable time.

The "watermark" is probably an invisible layer. Not all viewers understand layers, so what might be invisible us visible. Slso, layers might be made invisible by a JavaScript not understood in most viewers. So these things are not uncommon.

What Reader option do you mean by "remove watermark"?

Adobe acrobat DC has an option in tools which says "remove watermark."

Also, if I open the book on my laptop with preview, the watermark is visible, but not with adobe reader, as I said.
