when I download a file it is not saved on my laptop

I want the option to save a download on my laptop instead of just sending it straight to my acrobat reader with out a save. When I try to open a file, it shows that it isn't on my computer, I would like to know how to change it to where I am sending it to acrobat after I download a file. I still want the reader though

In order to view a PDF file it must be downloaded first to your computer, either as a regular file or as a temporary file. So if you open it it means it's already saved somewhere on your computer.

Once the file is opened in Reader you should be able to use the Save As command to save it anywhere you want.

You can also go to File - Properties and click on the Location path in the Description tab to open the folder where the file is located. It will even select it automatically when you do that...
