In the Adobe app edit mode，I cannot draw the patterns such as boxes, circles and so so on.

Thanks so much for sharing this, that's a really helpful clue. I'm sorry for the trouble it's causing in the meantime.

Could you help us confirm a few details so we can get this checked?

Which version of the Acrobat app are you using, and on which device/OS?
When the AI Assistant is enabled, does the draw button do nothing at all, or does it show an error?
Does this happen on every PDF, or only certain ones?

Also, please share a small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs so we can flag this AI Assistant conflict to the team, and in the meantime, disabling the AI Assistant sounds like a reasonable workaround if it lets you keep drawing.

I'm running Acrobat Pro v 2026.002.21931 64-bit on a PC.

The problem that I and other users have been having is that when drawing a shape or comment box or text callout, the click to start the drawing works, but then when you release the left mouse button, the drawing action does not “complete” and the other corner of the object just keeps getting dragged around. You can click ESC to terminate the action, but there's still no way to draw new objects.

I discovered that turning off the AI fixed purely by accident, it because I hate the AI prompts taking up space on my screen, and when I figured out how to the AI prompts off, suddenly I was able to draw objects normally again.

What happens when you try to draw the patterns on the PDF file? Do you get any error message workflow/steps are you taking to add drawings to the PDF using the Acrobat mobile app? A small video recording of the same would be very helpful for more clarity.

To add drawing to the PDF, try the steps below:

Open the PDF in the Acrobat mobile app
Tap on the draw button in the toolbar below
Drag and draw on the PDF as required.
