Question

Why do I get asked to login to Acrobat when trying to open a pdf that is stored on-line

I have Acrobat reader installed (I think I do).  I don't want to edit pdf documents.  I just want to read them when someone sends one to me or when they send me a link to one that is on-line.  But when I press the link to view the pdf on-line I get asked to log into Acrobat and then I still don't see the document.  I just want a simple solution to reading pdfs.

What do you see INSTEAD of the document?

- no app running

- app with a white document

- app with no open document

- error message

- something else?

A screen shot may help, showing the whole app. Please don't just photograph your screen.

I see a screen that has the name of the document, but the screen is blank.  I found the problem.  I needed to make Chrome my default browser and add the Acrobat extensions.  Then I was able to open the file.

Just an update to this.  I just purchased a new PC with Windows 11.  My old PC with Windows 10 had not problem opening pdfs.
