Why do I have to log in everytime I open a pdf document

    That might be it. It's a little worrying but not specifically about Reader. Did you try following the instructions in the message?

    Hmm, I wonder if you installed the free trial of Adobe Acrobat at some time? Rather than the free Acrobat Reader? I'm just clutching at straws, but I can't see why it would do that every time.

    I removed the reader and re-installed and now get a new message everytime I open a pdf.

    Do you (knowingly) have a screen reader, read out loud, keylogger, recorder etc. ?

    And make sure there is no sensitive/personal info in the screen shot, please, the world will see it.

    Instead of opening the file in the browser, save it locally and then open it in Reader directly.

    Most people don't have to. Perhaps you can share a screen shot of the prompt but PLEASE DON'T EMAIL IT.
