Why do I have to provide a code each time I open Acrobat reader

It is so annoying each time I open Acrobat Reader it has to email me a code to be able to open a file, even though I click stay open.  Wish there was another system I could use instead of Acrobat.

This is definitely not usually what happens when you open a file... Can you send a screenshot of this window you're seeing? It might be that this specific file is protected using DRM technology, which requires entering a code each time you open it.
