Why do I have to sign in to my Adobe account to use Acrobat Reader DC?

ADOBE:

It's bad enough that you are jacking your prices, but in this day and age of surveillance capitalism, to insist that your customers log in so that their creative work can be tracked is unforgivable. Actively looking for aternatives and spreading the word.....

UNHAPPY CUSTOMER.

Hi David,

Thank you for reaching out.

As you have mentioned, you are asked to sign in to the application every time you open the PDF.

Please try to sign in once and then sign out from the application.  Check if it asks you again to sign in.

Also, please ensure that you are using the Reader DC application, not the Acrobat Pro DC.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

- Reader is free.

- You don't have to log in to an Adobe account to open files with it. I just installed Reader DC (32 bits) and it allows me to open files even without logging in to my account without any issues.
