Why does Acrobat Reader always ask me for my password?

I don't understand why Acrobat Reader so frequently asks me to log in and provide my Adobe password. Worse, it doesn't use Apple Keychain, so I have to remember or keep handy my secure password.

Is there something I can do differently?

To be clear, this has NOTHING to do with password-protected files. This is happens at startup all the time.
