    Hello TTandLise,

Sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience caused. As per the description above, you are not able to open a PDF file which you have received on email, Is that correct?

With the screenshot and the error message, it seems that the file is corrupted and due to this reason, you are not able to open the file with the extension .xls.

Please contact the owner of the excel file and ask the owner to convert the current excel PDF file to PDF using Acrobat and share it with you, as you don't have any subscription of Acrobat or Document Cloud services to convert the excel file to Adobe PDF.

And with the freeware Adobe Reader, you can view, print, annotate only PDF files.

Let us know how it goes and share your findings.

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.

You do know that XLS means it is an Excel spreadsheet, not a PDF?

Yes John I do (and especially now) - thank you. Do you know why the Excel sheet comes into my email as a PDF? Is this a computer setting or a PDF thing - if you would know? I appreciate your response so far John.
