Windows 10 PDF Shortcut opens to blank screen

I've looked long and hard to find a solution and see a lot of discussion, most of which relate to opening in a browser resulting in a blank screen.

I created a shortcut in Windows 10 to open specific PDF's in Full Screen mode (slide show for lack a exact Adobe term.) It worked correctly in the past, but in the last six months to a year or so it does not

If I open Adobe Reader DC and open the file from there it works fine. But when I use the Win 10 shortcut, the file opens to a full screen, black/blank screen and there is no response, menu, error message, or anything. My only solution is to open Task Managed and end the task.

Any suggestions appreciated.
