Windows Application Error when opening pdf from Outlook 365

Question

Opening a PDF in Outlook 365 preview then clicking on the "open" button (default PDF application is adobe reader) result in Window Application error. The pdf opens correctly, no Win Event Log entry created.

Tried repair, reinstall (both Adobe reader and Officer 365), turning off protected mode. Same issue with Outlook 365 classick and "new" versions.

The error repeatable, happening every time.
