Since updating to Reader DC I cannot type in comments or text boxes. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the program. This is happening on two different computers. Any ideas or suggestions, I have used Reader for years and never had this problem before.

    Hi There,

Adobe Acrobat and Reader official update (19.012.20036) is now available. This update will be automatically pushed to all existing installations of Acrobat and Reader. If you want, you may also manually trigger the update early by opening the application and going to Help > Check for Updates.

More information about this release is here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html

Please try it out and let us know the issue is resolved!

Thanks for your patience and support!

    Regards,

    Hi Pmcelfresh,

Are you not able to insert text in comment in any document or only to this specific one? This is a strange behavior hat the problem started appearing after installing the latest patch.

Since you have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application, so we suggest you to try following troubleshooting steps and and if that doesn't work, then try changing the preferences setting suggested below-

    1- Reboot computer

2- Check with a different document as it could be document's security isn't allowing to make changes in it.

3- Open Reader>Edit>Preferences>Security(Enhanced)>disable "Protected View" and Enhanced Security>OK>Reboot Reader

Note: Changing the above security settings could pose security risks. We suggest you to turn it back On once you are done with testing.

Let us know if this doesn't make any change.

    Thanks,

    Akanchha
