Question

CC Library Color Swatches vs File Swatches Behavior

Hi,

when you click on a color swatch in your file, the foreground or line color immediately takes on that particular color. For a CC Library color swatch to be applied you need to select an element to color it.

This poses a problem for example if you want to (which I regularly do) use the live paint bucket tool. You are not able to pick a color to "fill the bucket" with.

I guess there´s no workaround, other than importing the CC swatches to the file swatches?

When the paint bucket tool is active, if you go to the color element in the Libraries panel and click it, the swatch will change to that color and then you can click the object on canvas to fill in with that color.

However, it does seem on occasion, this doesn't work. Sometimes when elements in the panel are deselected by clicking on the empty part of the panel, you will need to click twice on the element, or sometimes after having clicked to fill, it may intermittently occur. This is probably an issue with focus. We'll look further into this. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. In the meantime, just try clicking several times if the color doesn't immediately update to the color element you just clicked.

Note: This was tested on Photoshop.

Thanks for your response. You are right it does work in Photoshop, however it doesn´t in Ilustrator. Glad someone is looking into this. Best Pascal
