Sorry, but most long-time macOS (Mac) users still refer to the system as OS X... Yes, I have macOS Tahoe 26.x installed... Of course, I know about the universal installer; I’ve been struggling with this all day.

Just to clarify: I’ve removed all traces of Adobe from my computer—including Keychain entries and all directories and programs created by Adobe. Yet, the situation remains the same after a restart.

I started with OS 6 with an SE30, so I had used four versions before 10 was released. 😊

You posted to the Collaboration forum, and might want to repost to the Acrobat Reader forum where the Acrobat team is active.

    https://community.adobe.com/acrobat-reader-10

You might also follow the link I gave you to the feature request in UserVoice. That’s where the team tracks bugs and feature requests. As I said earlier, I have posted there. I want to have both Reader and Acrobat Pro installed, as I could for many years, but the unified installer makes it impossible.

Please confirm your macOS version, as you said two different ones. The last macOS X (aka 10) was macOS 10.15 Catalina, released in 2019. Tahoe is macOS 26.

Adobe is now using a unified installer, which is a single package that combines Acrobat and Acrobat Reader into one executable file. It installs the appropriate product based on the user’s licensing and sign-in status. Details here:

The Acrobat product team uses UserVoice. Here’s the link to comment on this issue:

You’ll see my comment and upvote on that page.
