I often scan in documents to Acrobat Pro, and then run OCR on them. I want to copy and paste excerpts into other documents. However, the results of the OCR are very poor -- for example it does not recognize the "fi" combination or other combinations that typically appear ligatured. Is there any way to improve the results other than manual correction after the cut and paste?

Hi,I am processing a collection of PDF files in which I execute a script for each 3D annotation found. However, some PDFs are secured and addScript method on Doc is throwing an exception : "NotAllowedError: Security settings prevent access to this property or method.".Is it possible to remove the security to be able to call addScript?The PDF file won't be saved at the end. Is there a way to open the PDF as a non-secured one, just the time to do the treatment?Thank you in advance.

I need to convert an invoice template in excel to PDF. I have two questions:1. This excel formula needs to be converted into JavaScript.      =IF(SUM(N53,-Q53)<0, "$0.00", SUM(N53,-Q53))          I tried a formula converter and replaced N53 and Q53 with Text1 and Text2 and I could not figure it out.2. I want to know if I can make a field required under certain conditions. Say I enter a dollar amount and want to know if the service was performed in CA or in the US I want the consultant required to check the option that applies. However, there may be extra lines that are available to enter amounts but not completed because they only need a few lines. Can I have a required field with an if statement for the other lines available but not in use, so it will not be required if certain fields are not completed.The only way I can work around this is putting a N/A option but then they would have to complete all the lines t

Hi Everyone, I have a form that creates a project name based off of selected values in a series of dropdowns.For example, Dropdown 1 has the values Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and DelewareDropdown 2 has the values Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management Dropdown 3 has the values New Build, Modification, Demolitionwhen selected, the selections form a project name, ex. Maryland - Construction Management - New Build in read only fields.Because of the way I wrote the validation, the values in Dropdown 2 and 3 are dependent on the selected value in Dropdown 1. What I am trying to do is create the project name with an abbreviation of the selection from the dropdown. So when you select "Construction Management", it populates "CM" and when you select "Demolition" it populates "DEMO", etc. I am not able to adjust the export value in the Options tab since the selections are completely based off of a switch validation script I have built into the State dropdown. I have been searching all over the internet for full information on this, and I'm just having a very difficult time figuring it out and would appreciate any help I can get.I have a function which is intended to automatically split PDFs based on the text of the page. According to the console, everything works fine in this function except for the "extractPages" function, which returns the following error:RangeError: Invalid argument value.Doc.extractPages:31:Document-Level:splitPagesAs I looked into it, it appears that this function is a privileged function, and this is where I start getting confused. As far as I know, there is some folder-level script that needs to be added in a certain folder (which I believe I've found) which gives the program privileges to do this sort of thing. However, past that, I'm totally lost. Does the splitPages function itself go into that .js file in the folder level? How do I call it? Hi,I am trying to open a collection of PDF files and execute script in each annotation 3D found in each PDF.I have created a program that does the trick using addScript but I have encountered issues I can't resolve regarding Security when a PDF is secured and addScript fails. Using jsObject, I am getting the scene of the 3D annotation and I am able to access scene.nodes.But I can't figure how to reach each node by its index. I am currently working on a pdf form that uses Javascript. I have a Javascript setup to validate that all required fields are filled in, followed by a save as, and then followed by email that populates the subject field using form fields. There are three javascripts built into one button. Is there anyway that I can put a stop in that if all required form fields aren't filled in that the other two javascripts won't run?

I am trying to extract a start date and return date into one field to show travel date. These text-boxes are formatted as Date fields except for Travel Date. one is (departure) and the other is (return). I have an application using AcroPDF after the most recent adobe update the program will not open some files. Possibly due to special characters in the file path.One example is O:\AP_01\@@@\@@#\@=&\00086717.pdfThe I am using the LoadFile() function. This worked fine just last week. Hi,I was wondering if there is a way to pause or delay script in batch sequence of acrobat. I have tried app.setInterval, app.setTimeOut but in both case app go to read next lines. timeout or interval script does not get a chance to run because action for current files finishes before timeout time reach and batch action proceed to next file without dialog being executed.. I have tried setting it very low.Let me give more details, I am working on the scanned files. with batch sequence, when batch sequence open first/any file a dialog box appear to allow input a ref no from the scanned image but since document view is not clear and one cannot read the number from screen. See attached.While document view is expected to look as. I need to read the red marked area. Is there any way to do this?Thank you

I have created a adobe form with server side signature from SAP. When i opened the document in adobe reader the digital signature is present in the document but the green tick/? for the signature validation is not present in the document. But when i verify the signature i get a message at the top of the PDF document stating that the signature is verified. Please let me know what i need to do to get the green tick or question mark symbol to indicate the signature is verified.

Hi,I am wondering if someone can help me..I am automating a set of actions.My first action step is "var cRtn = app.response("Enter Invoice number");"My problem is that this app response window appears before the pdf page has finished rendering on the screen.  I want it to fully render so that the user can read the invoice number and then input it into the window.Is there a way to delay the window appearing until the pdf page is fully rendered and visible ? Hi,I am converting a document to a form and there is a ratings section with 6 categories where a rating of 1 to 5 is given. A read only field Total-Score calculates the ratings given for each category.However, one category Kitchen, is only required if it a kitchen is present. Thus, a radio button with Yes and No option is present and if Yes is selected, the Kitchen-Rating field goes from hidden to visible, allowing the user to enter a rating. Otherwise, if No is selected, the field remains hidden.How do I go create a custom calculation script to sum up these fields yet factor in the change of state of the Kitchen-Rating field, i.e. if hidden it is not included and if visible it is included?
