I have been searching the forums for hours but cannot find a solution for this, which seems like it would be more simple than much of the questions I have been looking at. I do not have much experience with running scripts in Acrobat, but I am willing to learn. I have seen many forum answers referring to "LiveCycle", but I don't think I have that. I am running Adobe Acrobat CC and all is up to date.I want to create a fillable PDF where there is a dropdown menu that populates its options with the text from text fields earlier in the document that the user fills out. Is this possible?

I'm having this weird issue saving documents.  I have about 50 .rtf documents that I need to convert, now If I open them in Adobe they will be automatically converted to .pdf, but whenever I use my javascript line to save them to my folder, they are saved as As34d1.tmp.pdf, I'm confused as to why it's doing that, I want to save the .rtf document I opened and converted as the same filename? I have a button where Ive set the action to submit the form followed by an action to clear the form fields. Is there a way to make the clear form fields conditional upon the 'submit' action actually happening (when required fields aren't filled the submit button fails but then clear the form as well!)

I am creating buttons on a page based on if a layer exist or not. Not all layers will be in every document. I have a field with JavaScript actions. When I "duplicate it across pages" the field is duplicated, but the duplicates have no actions.If I could make the duplicates read-only, that would be fine, but that property would then apply to the original field, which is not fine.I guess I can add actions to the duplicates but there's a lot of them. And maybe I can't, anyway. Haven't tried!Any suggestions or comments? Thanks!

Hello,I am currently trying to compile chemistry past papers for my students. But the thing is, it's extremely difficult to just copy and paste each and every question and then organize them topic-wise. Is there any function where I could just highlight the next block of question and delete it with the del button and then organize them? A script to perhaps make the job go faster? Im new to this program and was wondering if there was an easier way to do this.Thanks

Last week, my PC had Windows 10 updates and since then, I have been having issues: I cannot go to my desktop storage, I cannot save nor save as my document (already in PDFs)...It looks like it searches: a box with 4 squares in grey and blue appear but it is not responding at all.I really need this as I work with DC everyday (I work for myself and I am the only one employee) and I have not been able to do anything with DC for 3 full days.Help please!Thanks all.

Hi All,I'm in Acrobat DC and I want to have a javascript with an If statement to do the following task. I know I'll need a if statement but I need some help starting it off. I have a two drop down fields. First down I have PointA, PointB and PointC  and Second drop down I have the same PointA, PointB and PointC. Now I have my Third Field box as a number because if I want to select PointA on the first drop down and select PointC on the second drop down then I want my Third field box to have a 4 for distance.So I already know this muchPointA to PointB= 3 milesPointA to PointC= 4 milesPointB to PointC=5 milesAnd these miles will not change because they are already calculated.thanks in advance

I need a javascript for the client to not have to tab to go to the next field. Example; text field limit to one character and when clients enter the character it should go automatically to the next text field. Can someone please help?

Hi all i'm very new to javascript and adobe forms.I have a form in which if a data entry field is not used it is automatically populated with N/A. The N/A in the field is determinned by a calculation in a seperate field we'll call Field1. Depending on the value of Field1 the data entry field is either N/A and read only or the field is blank and the user needs to enter a value. My pdf form has 80 fields. Adobe (jso), however, tells me I have 460. Here's the code:   Set jso = PDDocument.GetJSObject   fcount = jso.numfieldsWhen I press 'Tools | Prepare Form', Tab Order view, 80 fields show in the 'Fields' section of the screen.When I press the 'A-Z' button in the Fields section, all 460 fields are listed. Those 380 new items all begin with an underscore and seem to be categorized with a parent and several children. They do seem to parallel the 'real' fields. None of them allow a right click for me to see their properties. What are they and how can I ignore them in my code? Since I am required (without your answer to my question) to cycle through 460 fields instead of 80, I am really bogged down as the 'invisible' ones are processed.BTW, the 'invisible' in the title to this question has nothing to do with the 'hidden' property available with the 'real' 80 fields. These are actually invisible fields that cannot be touched.

Hello,I created a stamp you can put on a PDF document.The stamp ask some questions and save the document in a folder.Now i got the question 'Adobe needs write acces to save the document in the folder';Is there a way to suppress this questions in the Javascript ?In Adobe menu Edit - Preferences - Security (Enhanced) can you disable/enable the option 'Enable Protected Mode'.When this option = Off then you don't get the message. When the option = On then you get the message.So I want this option On but not the Write access message.Thx

I have been given an application where  the user fills out a form onscreen and we take that data and fill in the fields in a pdf template and allow them to download the new file.  We were using a third-party tool in the past and for money reasons we can no longer use that tool since we have upgraded our web server.  Is this possible to do with the Acrobat tool currently and can someone point me in the direction to some example code? The app is in vb.net but if the example code is in C#  I can convert.

I need help with hexadecimal encoding format in PDF files for both text and date and time stamps, e.g./Lang <hexadecimals>/Author <hexadecimals>/Created <hexadecimals>etc.Please point me to relevant page(s) in PDF reference/specification where encoding format is explained in detail, I must admit I didn't succeed on my own.

I have created a document where certain fields are updated based on triggers in other fields.  Part of this update includes changing color formatting from black on white to white on black.  The autopopulated fields are updated as the trigger fields are also updated.  I have also added the ability for users to manually override the autopopulated data.  (4 wins)After an autopopulated field has been manually updated, I need the color formatting to return to black on white.
