Hi. I am currently making a time sheet in Adobe Acrobat DC which requires a unique reference number everytime a new person fills it out and sends it in. I have tried several things and besides setting up a database the pdf can connect to and extract a new number from which wasnt used, this is what i came up with.I made a button you can click on "LøbenummerKnap" (sorry for the danish), when clicked it fills out my field with a new random number which is based on time. And it works.My problem is that i need it to be as short as possible but still guaranteeing the next number is unique to what have bin given earlier.This is my code on the button:var d = new Date();//Divide by 100 to get milisecondsthis.getField("Løbenummer").value = Math.floor(d / 100);So every milisecond a new number is assigned to my "Løbenummer" field if the button is pressed. I'm sending a POST to a server.  I noticed, using fiddler, acrobat sends the request twice. Once without the authentication headers and one with the authentication headers.  I have two servers, a test server, which sends back a realm with the 402, and a prod server that has no realm.  Acrobat will send the request again with the proper auth headers for the test server (i think because there's a realm), but will not send another request to the prod server, I'm assuming because it lacks a realm.I can't find any other reason for this except to assume acrobat wants to know what realm the auth will be used in.  I tested this in POSTMAN, it works for both servers, but the authentication header is sent right away (no need for two calls).

Ok guys and gals.  I'm going nuts here. I have been doing a lot of research on a dynamic drop down list for adobe acrobat pro XI.  I've seen a few things but nothing is working.  Here is what I am trying to do.  I have two drop down boxes in a form titled "Status" and "Rank."  I want Status to have two labels to chose from; NCO and OFFICER.  In the "Rank" field I want the list of either all of the NCO or Officer ranks to appear for selection based upon which option is chosen in the field "Status."  I tried this script which has gotten me the closest but only displays the data in the "Rank" field for NCO when NCO is the first item in the list in the "Status" field and the data that does appear in the "Rank" field does not display as drop down options.  Rather, it displays as a line of text with commas.  If I chose the Officer item as the 2nd item in the list, I get no change in the "Rank" field.  It stays populated with the original NCO

How do I decrease the white space leading in the tag tree? With the August 2017 automatic update to Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Version 17.012.20095.42964, the tag tree suddenly got expanded using a lot of white space leading. This negatively impacts me because now I can only view about 27 lines of tags. Last month, I could see about 50. This means I now need to spend a lot more time scrolling up and down in order to see tags. This is not acceptable. Whoever thought this was a good idea was wrong. It's a bad idea. I'm a production person in Acrobat. I can't waste all this time. When I telephoned Adobe, the heavily-accented girl told me there was no way. I have designed a pdf form to be used as a questionnaire however it is extremely long and comprehensive and it is not always necessary for a user to fill in the complete document. On the first page of the document I have a list of the different sections of the questionnaire and then if the user checks the checkbox of the sections, then only the pages of the document of those sections gets displayed and the ones that don't get selected, the relevant pages stay hidden. From what I have read, I will need to convert the pages to a template (Which I have figured out that I do under the organize pages tool) and then under the checkbox properties I will need to run a javascript under the actions tab to show or hide the relevant pages. My problem is I have no idea how to write javascripts. Does anyone have a line of code that I could copy into my document and substitute the page numbers (or whatever the case may be) which would give me the desired action on the document? Hi,I'm trying to create a loop that effectively goes through a folder containing multiple pdf documents. This script is essentially meant to open and extract specific data from each pdf and export it to a single .txt file. I created an if statement with OR but it doesn't seem to be working. Here is my javascriptif ((oa4.value > 0) || (oa3.value > 0 && hr.value > 0)){then do what's next...I have order amount lines and lines 1-4 are filled in then other things can happen. Also if line 1-3 are filled in with values and another total value is not null then that counts too.

Is there a javascript that can access "use local fonts" in the Preference window? I want the user to uncheck that option so all the fonts I used in the creation of the form will be used. At this point I just don't want any pop out windows saying, "Helevetica Bold cannot be used" (something like that). I'm trying to figure this out. I thought, all the fonts I selected to use in the form creation would be available. The only thing I can think of is to uncheck the "use local font" option. Any other suggestions out there?

Many users have non-Adobe default pdf readers installed on their computers. Even though I provide explicit instruction about installing the latest Adobe Reader, and that it is required to open and operate our forms, the users default pdf reader is still set to open it even after they install the Adobe Reader program. I include in the instructions how to open the form with the reader too.Sometimes the user does not read the instructions carefully and do not realize that our form is being opened on their computer by their default pdf program. They would then complete the entire form only to realize by the end that it will not work properly.Also, JavaScript can't be used with most other pdf viewers... is there some way to detect that Adobe Reader is not being used to open the form and warn the user up front not to proceed?

This calculator spans more than 1600 rows across 12 columns and out of which 1560 rows are used only for payment/amortization schedule. This part is actually causing problems. Excel sheet is having multi-level nested(to excel's limit) if else largely and some other simple calculations e.g PMT, MOD. I have converted all excel formulas in livecycle javascript and are working fine but the pdf form calculation speed is far from that of excel. Even if we use the short term for loan e.g 3 or 4 years it take time while excel sheet is designed to calculated till 1560 total number of payments and takes no time to calculate all data.I used repeatable subform feature and depending on the total number of payments rows are generated during runtime. I used this to keep document length optimum and escape from calculating unnecessary rows that are not required when loan

Hello, I have been struggling with this for a while and can't find my exact situation out there.How can I hide 2 text fields and 2 checkbox fields based on a particular date range?I have a form that includes a date field,  after a certain date I don't want the fields to be available so I would like to hide those fields. I recently learned of the Javascript Console in Acrobat, and am having a lot of trouble figuring out what the error messages mean. I am getting 2 in particular that confuse me.First, no matter what field value I change I get several errors saying:TypeError: this.getField(...) is null1:Field:CalculateHow am I supposed to know what field is being referenced? Shouldn't there be a field name instead of "(...)"?
