Microsoft Visual C++ Error Runtime Library - Help?

I started to get this error message and can no longer use Acrobat 8 Professional. I will open a file and after about 5 seconds, this error message will pop up:

I will click OK and it will shut down. I tried to just click the "X" and it does the same.

What is causing this and what do I need to do to fix it? Photoshop works fine.  I have tried un-installing it and then re-installing it, but nothing has changed?
