they need it electronically signed, and the pdf is secured and i just can't sign it

Hi,

If you have an AdobeID associated with an Acrobat Pro DC subscription, like a Teacher / Student plan, you can unlock premium editing features if what you're using is Adobe Reader DC.

Also, your to electronically sign a secured PDF document

with Adobe Reader DC you need to use the Fill & Sign tool.
