Photoshop: entire UI/workspace changes brightness and color when GPU acceleration is enabled

After updating Photoshop to the latest version, the brightness/color appearance of the entire Photoshop interface changes randomly while I am working.

This does not affect only the document canvas. The Photoshop workspace/UI itself also visibly changes in brightness/color.

HDR is disabled in Windows and automatic/adaptive brightness is also disabled.

I tested several Photoshop display and GPU-related preferences, but the issue persists.

The key finding is:

• With Use Graphics Processor enabled, the issue occurs.

• With Use Graphics Processor disabled, the issue completely stops.

Disabling GPU acceleration is not a viable workaround for my workflow because I work with very large Photoshop documents containing multiple artboards and rely heavily on GPU acceleration and GPU-dependent Photoshop features.

Steps to reproduce

1. Launch Photoshop with Use Graphics Processor enabled.

2. Open a large document, particularly one containing multiple artboards/layers.

3. Work normally in the document.

4. After some time, the brightness/color of the Photoshop interface and workspace changes unexpectedly.

5. Continue working and the appearance may change again.

Expected result

Photoshop's canvas and user interface should maintain a stable and consistent appearance while GPU acceleration is enabled.

Actual result

The appearance/brightness/color of the entire Photoshop workspace changes intermittently while GPU acceleration is enabled.

Disabling Use Graphics Processor completely eliminates the problem.

Troubleshooting already performed

• Windows HDR: Disabled

• Windows automatic/adaptive brightness: Disabled

• Photoshop HDR/display-related preferences tested

• GPU compositing-related preferences tested

• Photoshop interface/display preferences tested

• Photoshop restarted after preference changes

• Issue persists with GPU acceleration enabled

• Issue disappears completely when GPU acceleration is disabled

This behavior started after updating Photoshop to the latest version.
