Compute and Data storage location

Am I assured that, if I set my Service Region to Europe, the whole computing and data storage is done on the AWS data centers in Ireland only?

Here are some references saying that but I would like to have a confirmation as data security and RGPD are important considerations for our customers.

  • White paper explains that " stored content is synchronously and automatically replicated to other data center facilities within that customer’s region so that data integrity is maintained even with the loss of data in two locations. [...] For users with a Europe or Africa country code, storage is in Dublin, Ireland."
  • Documentation
  • SDK implementation

First, the white paper has been vetted by our engineering team so it's accurate. However, if security of stored documents is a concern, I suggest you access the services via the REST API directly rather than through the SDKs. The REST API allows you to either...

    • use our transient storage then delete any assets immediately after processing is complete or
    • use the external storage option where you bring your own storage and your files just pass through our services. We currently support SharePoint, Amazon S3, Dropbox, and Azure Blob. Note: External Storage is not available for all services at this time but we are working on that.
