Embed API on Squarespace Site

I am trying to add the PDF Embed API code to our website but I am receiving a file preview error. I am 95% sure the issue is that the file location of the .pdf is a squarespace.com link and my website, obviously, sits on its own domain. Is there a fix or workaround for this?
