Insert a Background to a PDF

Is there a way using the Acrobat Services API to insert a background to a PDF, such as an image or more preferably a PDF. In Acrobat you can load a PDF and then in Tools you can Insert a Background, so just wondering if I could automate this at all?

    Currently, that is not one of our APIs.

    Are we aware of any plans to incorporate this at all?

    Backgrounds and watermarks are an obvious candidate for a new API and, in fact, one that I've been championing internally. But to the best of my knowledge and at the time of this writing, it's not on the roadmap.
