Mathematical fonts on embedded pdfs

Hi,

When I embed a pdf using the Adobe View sdk, Times new roman italics do not appear to display correctly in mathematical type (e.g. the x's don't look correct). Here is an example of what I mean:

The screenshot below shows what it should look like (this is what you get if you right click and download). Is there a workaround for this?
