Question

Open a PDF, change its text contents, and save as a new PDF ?

Hello, all I wanted to do was to Open a PDF, change its text contents, and save as a new PDF ?

As far as I can tell after hours of tests, this fairly obvious use case is not actually supported even by paid Adobe APIs ?

(Without possibly: (1) exporting to Word, (2) modifying in Word using the MS API, and (3) generating an entirely new PDF from the Word Document -> which will always have problems...)

Please Help,

Cameron

Nope, this is not supported. To be clear, you can get text contents, and a heck of a lot more, via the Extract API. Create PDF is mainly meant to source from Office docs, or HTML.

Hello. That's a shame because we can already very easily :

1) Extract PDF Text/Structure using the free Open Source Mozilla library ('PDFjs') => offline

2) Inject PDF Text/Images via JS using the free Open Source library 'PDF-lib'

And I have seen comments complaing about the cost of your APIs

As such, it would appear that we can do more, faster and for free, by combining two Open Source libraries ...

Guess I'll check your APIs again next year to see if you've provided this basic functionality,
