Text copied from pdf is missing spaces, or has extra ones

We have a few PDF (of many) where the copy of text fails to copy the spaces between the words.

However copying on other platforms like the chrome browser, adobe desktop or Mac Preview desktop app works like expected. It seems really something to do with the PDF Embed API. 

Any idea how to solve/fix this?
