Unable to download PDF in Safari

Hi,

 

We are using Adobe Embed PDF API. 

 

We are having issues with Download and Print buttons across Mozilla and Safari browsers.

 

In Mozilla - Download button and Print button not working.

In Safari - Download button not working (Attached screenshot)

 

Both options are working fine in Chrome.

@Sumona Ghosh  / @Abhishek Arora  / @Raymond Camden  I have noticed while downloading in Mozilla, its trying to connect to a Blob URL. 

 

blob:https://documentcloud.adobe.com/<<Blob-ID>>

 

Does this mean PDF content is going to Adobe Cloud ?

 

How is this URL internally used ? What is happening behind the scenes ?

No, PDF content does not go to Adobe cloud. In addition to this, any kind of user generated content is never shared with Adobe servers.

We will investigate the download issue you're facing in Firefox and Safari browsers and let you know when we have any update.

    We have decided to go ahead with Adobe Embed PDF viewer. This is the only thing pending with Security clearance. Is there any possibility that this will be fixed in July/August release ?

    @Sumona Ghosh  / @Abhishek Arora  / @Raymond Camden  Is there any way to resolve the above issues with Adobe Embed API SDK. I have attached the error screenshot. Its working fine in Chrome but Download and Print options have issues in Mozilla and Safari.

    PDF printing is currently not supported in Firefox. You will see a dialog which asks you to download and print using Adobe Acrobat Reader. But download should work in both Firefox and Safari browsers.

     

    Please share details around the OS and browser versions.

    Do you have a hosted website where the issue is reproducible so we can take a look?

    1. Is there any documentation link around which features will be supported and not supported in different browsers ?

     

    2. We have to enable "blob:*" extension in the Content Security Policy to make Download and Print work in Mozilla. (Using Firefox 89.0.2 on Mac, ) and to resolve Download in Safari (Version 14.1.1 (15611.2.7.1.6, 15611)

     

    But without doing this change its working fine in Chrome. Is there any way to resolve the Download and Print issue without the above change.? Due to security clearance, its difficult to enable "blob:" in Content Security Policy (Unfortunately I can't provide the URL for you to test due to privacy. Please refer to screenshot attached  above)
