Any way to embed codes in a document for Acrobat Sign?

I realize this is a bit round-about but...

We have a document (a contract) that is generated using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and then exported to a MS Word file.

We then need to send that out to be signed. Right now, the exported docx file needs to be opened with MS Word (because it can be modified), then saved as PDF, then loaded into Acrobat and the initials and signature fields added.

Is there any way to put some sort of token or similar in the file (which remember, is generated from SSRS) so that Acrobat Sign recognizes it and makes those tokens Initial or Signature fields automatically?

    Hi there,

Absolutely.  As a matter of fact, I have worked with customers in the past using this very process.

Text-based documents like MS Word work quite well with Acrobat Sign.  You only need to add "labels" or text areas into your "report" using "text tags" as outlined in our documentation here.

Text tags can be used as placeholders for pretty much ANY of the various field types possible in Adobe Acrobat-Sign.
