"Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE Server"

I have a new computer ... I cannot open or read PDFs .,.

... when I attempt to download Adobe-Reader, I get a message that "Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE Server" ...

What's going on? ... any advice? ... thanks ... Steve ...

As per the description above, you are getting an error message of "Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE Server", Is that correct?
