What exactly is the situation? You're unable to find the tool? Can you find it but it's disabled? Does it work but not find anything?

Try to be a bit more specific about the nature of your problem.

I push Ctrl F and the search box pops up but it can't find anything in the text even when I am looking at the word!

Can you select the text you're seeing with the mouse, letter by letter? If so, what happens when you copy it and then paste it in another application, like Notepad?
