acrobat standard 2020

After getting a new computer, i realized that i needed to upgrade my old acrobat 11 so today i purchased a license upgrade but it turns out that i do not own the 2017 equipment -- which was not stated at purchase -- so i do not know how to go about cancelling the upgrade and purchasing 2020.  Anyone able to help?  Adobe is not all that helpful in the area of customer service unfortunately.
