Adobe Download Assistant

When trying to upgrade from Adobe Download Assistant from version 1.2 to 1.2.9 I get the following error message:

"The application cannot be installed due to a certificate problem.  The certificate does not match the installed application certificate, does not support application upgrades, or is invalid. Please contact the application author".

What should I do next?

    You need to quit the currently running version of the Adobe Download Assistant and then remove it from your application folder. 

    You should then be able to install the new version.
