How do I delete the Adobe PDF which I have not paid for without losing any of my Excel files or any other files for that matter?

    Hi haroldl,

I've checked your account, and I can't see that you have any Adobe products or services. Did you install Adobe Acrobat Reader, and now no longer want it? If so, you can just delete/uninstall it; do so won't affect any of the other files on your system.

You say that Adobe has taken your Excel files? Do you mean that the icons for those files turned to the Acrobat icon? Is so, please see if this document helps resolves things: Application, file icons change to Acrobat/Reader icon.

Please let us know how it goes.

I now can now longer open those files that were opening with Adobe. I had removed Adobe from my programs and features. Cannot do anything now. What is the best way to recapture all my pdf files and then convert them to .doc files?

    Hi haroldl,

There are other PDF viewers, but I would recommend that you download/install Acrobat Reader DC from this page: https://get.adobe.com/reader. If your icons all change to PDF icons again, you'll be able to fix that easily with the instructions in the document I linked to in my first post.

If you want to convert PDF files to .DOC files, then you could use the ExportPDF online service (you can also access the service from Reader DC). You can learn more about ExportPDF here: https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf.

    Best,
