adobe reader update

adobe keeps bugging me to down load the update so I get adobe reader X1 and when I read something say I'm at page 20 then I turn it off and when I turn it back on again it takes me to page 1 stead of page 20 where I left off. How can I fix this?

    Hi lostsoul65,

    There's a setting called "Restore Last View Settings when Reopening Documents" in the Documents preferences, which will make Reader "remember" what page you were on when you closed a PDF. To set this preference, choose Reader > Preferences (Mac OS) or Edit > Preferences (Windows), and click the Documents category.
