After conversion from PDF to Word, how do I edit it (add text)?

My document is a certificate and I converted it from PDF to Word thinking I could fill in the blanks with recipients' names and other info.  How do I do that?

    Hi djpzebra,

    For starters, try triple-clicking where you want to insert text in the converted Word doc. If that doesn't work, we can take a closer look at the PDF and how it was created (was it created from a scanned document, what application created it and so on).
