App logged out while editing pdf.

This seems to happen more often on the iPad app. I was just now editing PDF ( reading and highlighting various passages). After a couple hours of editing, I returned to the main app to discover that the app had logged out. I log back into the app, but my recently changed PDF ( which was previously saved to the cloud) did not get uploaded back to the cloud. I.e. the changes I had spent so much time working on did not get saved.

It's probably too late now but is/was there a way that I could have retrieved the edited version of my PDF?
