Chrome extension changing date in document content

We have a PDF on our internal website that has an "updated" date as part of the content. It's not a dynamic date that updates automatically when the file is opened, it's typed in manually. The date should read "01/09/2025" (January 9, 2025). However, for most users viewing the document on our website via the Adobe Acrobat extension in Chrome, the document displays "01/08/2025" (January 8, 2025) instead. If users turn off the Chrome extension, the correct date displays, but it would be difficult to communicate this to all employees. What could be causing this? Is there a setting we can change in the PDF to prevent this from happening? Thanks!

I hope you're doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble.

 

Disable Chrome Extension:

  • Temporarily disable the Adobe Acrobat extension in Chrome to verify if it resolves the date issue. Go to chrome://extensions/ and toggle off the Adobe Acrobat extension

Check PDF Metadata:

  • Ensure the PDF metadata is correct. Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat, go to File > Properties > Description and verify the date fields

Use Adobe Acrobat Desktop (Recommended):

  • Disable JavaScript execution before converting:
    Edit > Preferences > JavaScript > Uncheck "Enable JavaScript" https://adobe.ly/4bnplgP

  • Convert the webpage to PDF using the desktop app for full control over settings: https://adobe.ly/3XiBNsj

Update Adobe Acrobat:

  • Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat. Go to Help > Check for Updates and install any available updates
