Question

Combining PDFs with digital signatures in Adobe Acrobat on a Mac, retaining comments!

Help please!

I am looking to combine 14 PDFs (book chapters) into one single PDF file. Basically, the main book PDF was split and sent out to individual chapter authors, the chapter authors have marked up their corrections to their chapters and sent them back to me. For some reason, all files have a digital signature now so I cannot combine them back into one 'whole book' PDF. Is this possible?! I don't need the digital signatures but I do need the comments that the authors have made. I have done this hundreds of times previously but have never run into the problem with the digital signatures!

Thank you in advance!

You can't combine signed files to a single PDF that's not a Portfolio, comments or no comments.

Hello,

This may happen if the property of the digital signature has been set to lock the document.

Once the individual documents have been signed the status of the file has been changed to Read-only or depends on the level of permission that was set while placing the signature.
There is an option called Portfolio. https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/overview-pdf-portfolios.html
