In the Acrobat desktop application, you can unmark the option "Show comments pane when a PDF with comments is opened" in the comment preferences. In Acrobat, go to Menu > Preferences > Commenting. Once unmarked the option, click the OK button to save the changes. You may refer to the comment preferences in the following help document: https://adobe.ly/40HwTaR. 

In Acrobat Online, click the Profile icon and select Settings. Scroll down to comments and check the box for "Hide comments preview."  Click on the Save button to save the changes.
