Document security SharePoint and Adobe Document Cloud

Hi 

We are planning to use Adobe Document Cloud plugin to edit documents in SharePoint online for a government agency. Please note Adobe DC plugin will be installed on  Agency Office365 tenancy.  Could you please provide more information around how the PDF documents/streams are transferred to/from Adobe DC and Office365. Does the document stream leave Office365 tenancy during document editing.
