I need help understanding....I have several forms that are currently in just a PDF read only format. I want to convert them to a form that users can fill otu online and submit. A few questions:

1. Does the user need to have acrobat DC to even use the "fill out form" service?

2. Can I create a form that users can fill out with the exception of the signature? Once filled out they would have the ability to print the pdf form from desktop to sign and fax back in. My client needs to be HIPPA compliant and is cautious of the online sig.

Hi chelseam,

The folks who need to fill out the form can do that using the free Adobe Reader, which you can download from this page: https://get.adobe.com/reader.html.

Hi chelseam20377184,

Yes, you will require Acrobat application in order to achieve the mentioned goal.

I will recommend you to test it with the trail version Download Adobe Acrobat free trial | Acrobat Pro DC‌, check if it fulfills your requirement or not.

Thank you. I am creating this form for a client. If i create the form using Pro DC on my computer but then hand over rights to client who does not have Pro DC will this cause issues?

Hi chelseam,

There should be no problems. But choose File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF when you're done with the file. That will allow folks who have older versions of Reader to save the data they enter into your form.
