drop down box automatically fills in

I'm creating a pdf form. I have several drop down boxes with the choice of yes or no. when I preview the form, and select either yes or no, all the drop down boxes fill in with either all yes or all no. how can i stop this? i already have auto-populate turned off in preferences.
