when I try to transfer an adobe file to a word file it won't transfer and gives me an error message that says it can not transfer XFA forms.  I don't know what that means or how to go around it.

If your PDF file contains XFA forms then the PDF file cannot be exported to Word file.

One way you can export your PDF file without having the interactive form features of XFA forms are below:

    1. Open your PDF file in Acrobat XI Pro (you can download from www.adobe.com for 30 days trial or upgrade your subscription to Acrobat Plus)

    2. Select File > Print then choose "Adobe PDF" printer

    3. Rename the file

Use this file to export to Word file.
