Export PDF makes garbled conversions

I have pdf files that I've converted to Word. On the Cloud they look perfect, but when I download them, they are garbled and the copy is all over the place. These are brochures that I originally created in Pagemaker, but since I cannot use that anymore, I need to set them up in Open Office. OO will open other word documents, but not these. I've had nothing but trouble with this program since I first purchased it back in January. HELP!

One more thing. I read the forum and they said to use the insert mark in the text I wanted to edit and the triple click. All I get is an arrow...no insert mark.

    Hi JeanieGram5,

Did you scan the PageMaker brochures and save them as PDFs? And are you previewing the converted files in your Acrobat.com account, or the original PDF files? What happens when you try to open the converted files in Open Office? Do you get an error, or do they just look bad?

It really is a matter of good PDF=good conversion. Not-so-good PDF=possible conversion problems.

If your PDFs aren't created from scanned documents, you may have better luck converting with OCR disabled, as described in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community
