Export PDF won't convert doc to Word

I have a subscription to Adobe Export PDF, Annual.  (It's a little confusing because when I open a PDF, it says in the top left corner "[name of document].pdf - Adobe Reader.")  Anyway, it's not converting my PDF into Word.  It's putting a text box (image) into a Word document.  I used to be able to convert to docx files.  Why isn't it working?

    Make sure you are using latest Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Acrobat Reader DC Learn & Support to use Export PDF service Acrobat Reader Help | Export PDF from Acrobat Reader DC.

    You can also try to use it online at https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf

    Thanks. I clicked on the first link you provided but I don't see where it tells you how to check whether you have the latest version.  Do you know how to do that?
