Hi Steveh,

I assume that you are referring to one particular pdf file  which you are converting to the word? The document you are working on, is it a scanned pdf file or contain real text?

1- If you are trying the conversion online then you may check with a different web browser, turning the security software off (if any) for a while.

[Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install or activate other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done.]

Or it could be a possibility that the font used to create the document has not been embedded so after converting to the word file its not displaying.

2- You may open document>Right Click "Document properties"> Fonts> Check the fonts used in pdf are present when its converted in word file?

Let us know if  it still doesn't make any difference.

Hi Steveh,

As we have checked the account details using the email address you are logged into the forums, you have subscription for Adobe Export PDF. Could you let us know if you are trying to export pdf in Adobe Reader desktop application or online using a web browser at this link: https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf  If using Reader, try exporting pdf using a web browser and check if that makes any difference.

Also, would it be possible to share the pdf file with us? To share the file here in the forums, please refer to the steps given here: How to share a file using Adobe Document Cloud

Let us know if you need any help.
