Font in a document

HI Meenakshi,

No worries, sorry that I didn't provide alot of information. I have two versions of Adobe that is available for me to use. Adobe Acrobat DC which in on my work computer and Adobe Acrobat X Pro on a seperate works station. The issue I have recently experienced, happens on both version. Please bare with me because I have recently been learning more about adobe because of the issue and I might not be explaining the issue well, so please ask me questions if you need clarification. I am not well versed in Adobe and don't know alot of the terminolgy that might be more helpful.

For years we've been able Adobe File, print to Adobe to fix simple things like removing removing a signature panel error message because we can not validate the sigature. This use to work fine but now, when you do that there is a false postive on checking the OCR. So I can highlight all the text, which then I think it's OCR'd but if I were to search for a word on the document, Adobe says that it's searched the document and can not find it. So I figure I will just run OCR again, using Enhanced Scans and that should fix it but it doesn't. I get an Adobe Renderable Text Message come up for  every page. When I copy and paste the text from the document onto word, I get either a small box with a ? or just a small box, which I am told how you check for font errors.  If I were to take that document that I can no longer OCR, do another File, Print to Adobe, I can OCR the document.  I feel like that it could be a font issue or that for some Adobe is not reconize any of the text on the document. The issue to seems to be created by Adobe when you do the File Print To Adobe. It's important for you to know that the Original document is not a scanned document. Some are documents that were forms created by adobe once upon a time and the other, is when you convert an OUTLOOK email to adobe.

I was thinking along the lines of, if it's a font issue, that adobe didn't reconize certains fonts because in the version we have there is a standard fonts package and maybe the OCR issues we experience, could be resolved by upgrading. However I don't think it works like that, I have read that OCRing is not full proof.

As I said above, it could a font issue or that I am leaning towards since I posted this, that maybe when there were updates at work, maybe a possible update to Adobe, it might not have been installed properly and that's why suddenly what we use to do to fix some stuff, not longer works. It only happens when you perform the File, Print to Adobe funtion when you reprint an existing document.  

I hope I have explained this well and it gives you an idea of what I (we) are experiencing.
