Font in a document
Hi,
I have been trying resolve issues with Adobe, I was told by an IT person via work that the OCR issue I was trying to get fixed or find a solution for, was actually the result of Fonts. The way I understood from the explanation is the when you purchase Adobe, there's a certain set of fonts that come with it and other fonts from other programs or applications can cause the OCR not be performed at all or partially OCR it, hence the "rendering text error" message when you try to OCR a document or when you create the PDF during the conversion process (MS word to Adobe).
My question is how is possible? Are all fonts universally used? I find it wierd because it happens to documents that I scanned or converted to PDF.
I find it hard to wrap my mind around it, can someone help explain this to me?
